Meredith Stern

Meredith Stern (she/her, born 1976) is a founding member of the Justseeds Artists’ Cooperative, an international printmaking organization now in its 20^th year. Justseeds was awarded the Grand Prix in International Biennial of Graphic Arts in 2009. She has collaborated on large-scale art installations in galleries in the US, Germany, and Slovenia. Her multidisciplinary practice includes zine publishing, printmaking, collage, and ceramics, and she has two decades of experience creating illustrations for social justice organizations amplifying her interests in intersectional feminism, climate justice, and mutual aid.

Stern has received grants and awards including a RISCA Fellowship in Drawing and Printmaking and multiple awards from the Puffin Foundation. Her work is in the permanent collections in universities around the world and in such special collections as the Library of Congress, the RISD Museum, the Obama Presidential Center, and the book arts collection at MoMA in New York.

She has exhibited at galleries including MASS MoCA, Design Museum Boston, SOMArts Cultural Center, Queens Museum, Concordia University, Soho 20 Chelsea Gallery, Walker Art Center, Knitting Factory, Paul Robeson Gallery, RISD Museum, Newport Art Museum, and WaterFire Arts Center. She has lectured extensively at universities and high schools around the US and encourages students in her classes to take intellectual and creative risks and articulate their ideas through a variety of art mediums.
