Maggie Ellis

Painting Critic

Maggie Ellis received her BFA in painting from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2014 and her MFA from Hunter College in 2017. She also attended the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture in 2017. In 2024, Ellis was awarded an FST Studio Projects grant. Her work is represented by Charles Moffett in New York.

Recent group exhibitions include Longest Way Round at Charles Moffett, Dante’s Inferno at Unit London, and A Study in Form (Chapter Two) at James Fuentes. In 2023, she opened her first institutional exhibition, The Ride, at the SCAD Museum in Savannah, GA. Solo exhibitions of Ellis’ work have taken place at Micki Meng in San Francisco in 2022 and at Charles Moffett in New York in 2021 and 2023. Her work has been featured in Hyperallergic, Artsy, and New York Magazine.
