K. Anthony Jones

K. Anthony Jones is a scholar, lecturer, and curator working across Black studies, architectural history, and critical theory. His research focuses on archives, memory, and institutional structures, examining how social and historical narratives are constructed through cultural production, legal reasoning, and spatial practice—particularly within Black intellectual traditions. He holds a Master of Arts in Design Studies in the History & Theory of Architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design and a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Morehouse College.  

Jones’s ongoing public scholarship includes The Home Lecture Series, a multi-part initiative examining themes of displacement, objecthood, and narrative reconstruction through art, philosophy, and critical theory. His lectures have been hosted at institutions including the Bard Graduate Center, the MIT List Visual Arts Center, the University of Pennsylvania Department of Africana Studies, and RISD. His research and archival experience extends across major cultural institutions, including provenance research for the Baltimore Museum of Art through the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative, as well as archival and curatorial research roles with Matthew Barney Studio, the Office for Metropolitan Architecture (OMA), and the Harvard Art Museums.  

In his pedagogical practice, Jones designs interdisciplinary curricula that connect race, governance, spatial theory, and memory, mentoring students in research methodologies and critical writing.
