Digital + Media Workspaces and Tools

Digital + Media grad students have access to state-of-the-art hardware, software and facilities that support many modes of creative practice. Majors take advantage of equipment for 3D modelling, CNC and laser cutting, and audio/video editing. Students also have access to an installation space ideal for executing time-based and multimedia projects, and more.

D+M majors interested in sonic practice enjoy use of the Studio for Research in Sound and Technology (SRST), an acoustically treated room featuring an array of 25 independently addressable, full-range speakers and four subwoofers. The department also houses various tools for site-specific research and experimentation, including:

• advanced photography and photogrammetry systems
• autonomous surface and underwater vehicles
• a Phenom G2Pro scanning electron microscope
• high-end devices for audio capture
