Artist Ball students in crayon costumes

A longtime RISD tradition, the Artists’ Ball is a giant dance party sparked by over-the-top costumes. Students often work together to design and make whatever they’re moved to wear, individually or as a group. The outcomes range from cute and sweet to silly or downright weird to gutsy, gory and/or totally outrageous.

Plan ahead for the next big Ball

Sponsored by RISD’s student-run Programming Board and the Center for Student Involvement (CSI), this ticketed, late-night dance party takes place downtown at a giant skating rink within walking distance of campus.
