Bowen Liu
Bowen Liu is the founder of Bowen Liu Studio, a design and research office based in New York City since 2017. The studio creates its namesake furniture brand and provides furniture and accessories design services for established brands and manufacturers around the world. Liu’s designs have appeared in elite magazines and publications worldwide, including Monocle, Interior Design, Elle Decor, Dwell, Metropolis, Christie’s International Real Estate, Azure, Bon Appétit, Design Anthology, Dezeen.com and Design in Asia: The New Wave published by Thames & Hudson. Liu’s awards include ICFF Editors Awards, NYC X DESIGN Awards and the European Product Design Award.

SOPHOMORE DESIGN METHODS
SECTION DESCRIPTION
This studio course introduces materials commonly used in furniture making and the foundation skills necessary to integrate them into furniture. Emphasis is on techniques, structures and materials properties. These are integrated with theoretical exercises that focus on design.
Majors are pre-registered for this course by the department. Enrollment is limited to Sophomore Furniture Design Students.
